6 Steps For Choosing An Egg Donor
Make a list of all of the qualities you’d like in an Egg Donor, then rank them according to importance.
Our TrueMatch™ Specialists
TrueMatch™ is a matching technique unique to our agency and is utilized by our Matching Specialists to help you narrow down your Egg Donor choices.
We go beyond the emotional criteria you may have established and increase your chances of matching with an Egg Donor you love.
TrueMatch ™ is a complimentary service that was developed by us through years of assisting Intended Parents in finding their ideal Egg Donor. Even if you think you know exactly what you’re looking for, we’ve discovered that most Intended Parents, no matter how certain they are of their Egg Donor criteria, can benefit from using our system.
Feel free to speak with a Matching Specialist at any point in your journey. During your free consultation, they will help understand your needs and preferences, establish the importance of the location of your Egg Donor, and get to know you a little bit more.
Using our TrueMatch™ program, our Matching Specialist will send you Egg Donor profiles tailored to your likes and needs. Our Matching Specialist will have personally met and talked with the Egg Donor, so they often have extra information that may not appear on the profile and can be important when you’re making such a personal decision of choosing an Egg Donor.
Meet Your Egg Donor
We know that choosing an Egg Donor can be a daunting time for Intended Parents. That is why we offer the option to have an in-person video chat with your preferred Egg Donor/s.
This video chat will be hosted by one of our Matching Specialists for the conversation to flow easily and not be awkward. It’s like a first date, and we all know how those can go. This meeting will let you get a better feel for the Egg Donor and give you the confidence that you are picking the right person.
Rest assured, that neither your full name, nor the Egg Donor’s will be revealed on this call, so you can each maintain your anonymity.
After You've Found Her
Once you’ve decided on your Egg Donor, let us know. We will confirm her availability, email you her anticipated fees and answer any further questions you might have on her Egg Donor profile. Next, we will send you our agency paper in order for you to secure your Egg Donor match.
That’s not the end, if fact, that’s when you’ll be assigned a Case Manager to start coordinate all the details of your Egg Donor cycle journey. We stay involved until your eggs are retrieved and your Egg Donor is safely back home.
Our Quality Egg Donor Matches
We are constantly praised for the high quality of our Egg Donors.
Our TrueMatch™ system guarantees that the Egg donors are pre-screened and educated about the egg donation process and the important role that they are playing.
Questions Intended Parents Are Asking
Fresh Egg Donor eggs appear to be about twice the price of frozen Donor Eggs. But it’s not as simple as that since there are additional fees for eggs that are purchased frozen. Also, not all eggs are created equal. Let’s help break this down a bit.
Many clinics find that fresh Egg Donor eggs have a higher fertilization rates than frozen eggs.
For example, if you purchase 8 frozen eggs, not all may thaw, not all may fertilize, and then if you do genetic testing on them, you may only end up with 1 or if you’re lucky 2 high quality genetically tested embryos. And even when tested it doesn’t guarantee a pregnancy.
If you do a fresh Egg Donor cycle, during the initial screening most doctors will not approve an Egg Donor who is showing less than twelve follicles (each follicle in the ovary contains 1 egg), and most experienced Egg Donors in our database have produced 18+ eggs. Then with a fresh Egg Donor egg fertilization (if the quality of sperm is good) you may end up with 15 – 18 fertilizing and 3 to 8+ genetical sound and tested embryos.
Using these figures - if you were to purchase 8 frozen Egg Donor eggs at $3000/egg you would be paying at least $24,000 for the eggs alone, and an additional $12,000+ for possibly shipping, IVF fees for fertilization, genetic testing, transfer fees, etc., and end up with possibly 1-2 genetically sound embryos. With a fresh Egg Donor cycle you might end up with 3-8 genetically tested embryos, with the cost being $36,000+ (this includes the Egg Donor compensation, agency fees, IVF costs, medications, monitoring, etc.). The exact total cost for each cycle will depend on what your clinic charges, the cost of your specific egg donor and the agency’s fees.
